Glasgow Park Farmers Market

Glasgow Park Farmers Market

Glasgow Park Farmers Market
Outdoor vendor stalls and a comfort station are in the front of the new Farmers Market.

The new Glasgow Park Farmers Market is located at the westerly end of the existing 250-acre New Castle County park, on the site of the original “Hermitage” farm. Approximately 14 farm buildings will be removed and replaced with a comfort station pavilion, indoor and outdoor vendor areas, a new 150-slot parking lot, access drives and an amphitheater (designed, but has not built).

Glasgow Farmers Market Barn
Converted barn with new entrance addition has two floors of vendor spaces.

A masonry-block comfort station pavilion was added on site adjacent to an outdoor vendor area. An existing barn was converted and expanded for use as an indoor vendor area.  The barn conversion required Landmark to design an ADA-compliant ramp for accessibility to the second floor level.

Scope of Work

Services included topographic land survey, wetland and forestation review, preparation of a Minor Land Development Plan, site design and construction plans for demolition of existing farm buildings, grading, erosion & sediment control plans, water and sewer (pump station and force main), and stormwater management plans for the new facilities. All approval and agency processing was conducted through New Castle County, State Fire Marshal and DelDOT.

Glasgow Park Farmers Market ADA Ramp
A ramp was designed that provides accessibility to the second floor of the barn.

A new 10,000 square foot maintenance building will be added as Phase 2 of the project.
